- Our school community came together for our highly anticipated annual STEM Night and Fair! The evening was a true celebration of curiosity, showcasing nearly 500 individual and team student projects across all grade levels for our families and community to explore. The excitement didn't stop there! Many of our talented students moved on to compete at the district level, and we are incredibly proud to share that four Mason students were recognized as category winners!
- Mason recently teamed up with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) for an incredible, year-long partnership! Through this collaboration, our 5th-grade students dove into a Project-Based Learning (PBL) adventure to explore the fascinating world of microorganisms. Using innovative design thinking, these bright young minds took hands-on learning to the next level by creating, branding, and selling their very own custom soaps at our annual STEM fair. Beyond being fantastic entrepreneurs, our students did a wonderful job educating the community on practical ways to reduce the spread of bacteria.
- We are thrilled to announce that Mason’s Counseling Program has once again earned the prestigious Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) Award! This wonderful milestone marks our program's fifth consecutive cycle of national recognition. It is a beautiful reflection of our counseling team's heart, dedication, and tireless work to remove barriers to learning for our students. By continually meeting the highest standards set by the American School Counselor Association, they ensure that every child at Mason has a supportive, nurturing environment where they can truly thrive.
- We are proud to share that Mason Elementary has been officially recertified as a Georgia STEM School by the Georgia Department of Education! This incredible achievement places Mason as one of only three elementary schools in Gwinnett County, and one of just 30 across the entire state, to hold this honor. Up next, the school is setting its sights even higher: achieving full STEAM certification during the 2027–2028 school year.
- Thanks to an amazing community effort, the Mason Elementary School PTO raised a spectacular $50,000 during this year’s Lion Stomp fundraiser! These funds are dedicated to boosting school resources and supporting improvements for every student. Alongside the fundraiser, the PTO hosted the "Roaring Expressions" competition to celebrate student creativity. Exploring the theme "I Belong," students expressed themselves through a variety of mediums, including essays, poems, photography, paintings, and drawings.
- The Mason Elementary Play 2 Learn family continues to grow! We are so excited to welcome our newest class of future Lions—made up of approximately 40 wonderful young learners and their parents. This fantastic initiative provides a warm, engaging environment where our littlest community members can explore, play, and grow. By learning side-by-side with their parents, these future students are building a strong, joyful foundation for their upcoming academic journeys.
- At Mason Elementary, learning extends far beyond the traditional classroom through our vibrant extracurricular clubs! We are thrilled to offer a diverse lineup that caters to every student's unique passions, helping them build lasting friendships while uncovering new talents. From the harmonies of Chorus and the creative canvases of our Art and Drama clubs, to the strategic battlegrounds of Chess and Math club, there is truly a place for everyone to belong. As a proudly certified STEM school, we love watching our students innovate in our STEM, Coding, and two Lego clubs, where hands-on problem solving comes to life. Our Lions stay moving and healthy, too, by hitting the courts in Tennis or burning off energy with high-energy cooperative games in Lions Unleashed Physical Ed. Thank you to our incredible staff and supportive families for helping us nurture such well-rounded, happy, and engaged young learners!
- During our PRIDE time enrichment, Mason's creative 4th and 5th graders transformed their classrooms into a living museum! Our talented students researched animals native to Georgia and designed an immersive museum exhibit to showcase their findings. Hands-on learning took center stage as students crafted stunning, life-sized papier-mâché models of local wildlife, from the majestic bald eagle to the loggerhead sea turtle. Beyond creating beautiful art, these young scientists designed interactive displays explaining the vital ecological impact each animal has on its habitat. Through this project, our 4th and 5th graders didn't just learn about Georgia's diverse ecosystem—they became community educators, teaching us all the importance of conservation right in our own backyard!
- Our beautiful school gardens became an active outdoor research lab as Mason partnered with the UGA Extension for the Great Southeast Pollinator Census! Armed with clipboards and a lot of curiosity, our students took on the role of real-world scientists, counting and identifying the vital pollinators visiting our plants. This hands-on partnership not only brought our science curriculum to life, but it also allowed Mason to contribute meaningful data to a major regional conservation effort. We are so proud of our student researchers for helping us better understand and protect Georgia's local ecosystem!
