  • Minor provides additional support to students through a mentor/mentee program. Staff members meet monthly to help students with social, emotional, and academic strategies one-on-one.
  • Minor's Saturday Shining Readers program provided reading strategies to K-1 students.
  • Minor's Career Fair introduced students to career-related activities, with guests representing many of our career sectors, including law enforcement, medicine, civic leadership, trucking, and more.
  • Minor’s Parent Center instituted two Play to Learn programs to teach parents learning activities they can do at home with younger children to help prepare them for kindergarten. Classes on various topics were also provided to parents.
  • Minor sponsored various clubs, including Chorus, Art Design, P.E., Readers Rally, Girls on the Run, ASL, Yoga, Coding, and the First Lego League.
  • Minor promoted cultural awareness and community unity through celebrations of Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) History Month, and International Night.
  • Minor grades 3–5 students participated in an Extended Learning Time program.
  • Minor had a student place 7th overall in the regional Spelling Bee
  • The Georgia Department of Education recognized Minor Elementary School with Operational status for implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) last school year. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
  • We house the DHH program for the county.
