  • The Georgia Department of Education recognized Mountain Park ES with Operational status for implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) last school year. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
  • All Mountain Park ES students have the opportunity to take a Computer Science special. In these classes, they learn the building blocks of how computers work, laying the foundation for further coursework that they can take in middle school.
  • Mountain Park ES offers students the opportunity to engage in a variety of extracurricular activities, including Anime, BattleBot, Chorus, Crochet, Dash Robots, First Lego League, Kawaii Drawing, Polymer Clay, Readers Rally, Running, Sewing, Sphero, and Weaving Clubs.

  • This year, the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program continued at Mountain Park. Watch D.O.G.S. is one of the nation’s largest school-based, family, and community engagement organizations that support education and safety. We had more than 40 fathers and father figures spend a day or more at school engaging in teaching and learning. Our students loved having these male role models attend school with them.
  • Being one of the most diverse elementary schools in the nation, Mountain Park ES held its 5th Annual International Night. We celebrated the diversity and various nationalities of our students. With close to 20 countries represented, families showcased native food, attire, music, and games.
  • In its first year as a Title I school, Mountain Park ES hosted monthly Parent Workshops. Topics included school/home communication, multilingual learners, EL Education, math standards, grade-level transitions, and summer activities.
  • Morning Meetings are embedded into Mountain Park ES’s daily schedule, allowing students and teachers to connect. This helps students feel a sense of belonging and embrace the traditions and experiences of Mountain Park’s diverse community.
  • Mountain Park ES hosted its annual Spring Picnic, fostering community between the school and its families. Activities included a picnic lunch, Kona Ice, and inflatables.
