- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts (NMAPA) engages students in instruction that integrates the academics and performing arts in ways that address the unique needs and interests of each student, while intentionally developing confidence, imagination, and collaboration. All students at North Metro Academy of Arts learn four Fine Arts areas: Visual Arts, Dance, Drama, and Music. Student in grades 3-5 select a Major in one of the Fine Arts. The school has been the recipient of the Georgia DOE Creative School Arts Integration School of Excellence Award and the Gwinnett Creativity Award.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts offers a personalized experience to students’ area of interest in Leadership, STEM, Sports, and Fine Arts. Eighty percent of the students participate in at least one extracurricular activity resulting in high student engagement and pride.
- Students excel in performing arts at North Metro Academy of Performing Arts. The Chorus and Dance Ensemble performed at Peachtree Corner’s Town Center “Holiday Glow” in December. The students also displayed their talent at the school’s annual spring show, Lion King Jr, The Musical.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts received the 2024 Recipient of the Gwinnett Pearls of Service Andria Daniels Technology Grant.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts is a BETA Elementary National School of Merit. The school’s BETA Club participated in several community service events during the school year. They collected and decorated hats and gloves during the winter and donated them to the Children’s hospital and made gift baskets for a local nursing home.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts also has an active focus on STEM. The Robotics Competition Team (grades 3-5) participated in the district’s Lego League (FLL) Challenge Competition and received the Engagement award. Eight student finalists participated in the Gwinnett Regional Science, Engineering, and Innovation Fair. The school has also been a recipient of the Georgia SHAPE Award Grant and recognized as America’s Healthiest Schools.
- Lindsey Morrison, Special Education teacher, was selected by the staff as North Metro Academy of Arts’ Teacher of the Year.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts is a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
