- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts (NMAPA) is proud to be an elementary themed school that engages students in an integration of academics and performing arts in ways that address the unique needs, talents and interests of each student, while intentionally developing confidence, imagination, and collaboration. Every student attends specials classes in Fine Arts, such as Dance, Drama, and Music. Physical Education, Health, and STEM are also included subjects. The school has been the recipient of the Georgia DOE Creative School Arts Integration School of Excellence Award and the Gwinnett Creativity Award.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts offers a personalized experience to students’ area of interest in Fine Arts, but also in Leadership, STEM, and Sports. Students can develop unique abilities, uncover hidden talents, and gain cultural experience while pursuing an education tailored to their unique needs while engaging in a variety of diverse learning opportunities an extracurricular activities that resulted in several moments of pride this year.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts is a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school and was recognized as a Georgia DOE Distinguished PBIS School Recipient of 2025 and received a Georgia School Climate Star rating of 5, the highest score possible.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts is proud to be recognized as a National Elementary BETA School of Merit. Each September an annual induction ceremony is held to welcome new fourth and fifth grade scholars into the National BETA Club. This prestigious event celebrates not only our scholars' academic achievements, but also their leadership, character, and commitment to service as they join a community dedicated to making a positive impact both in school and beyond. - State BETA Convention-Elementary Division (Savannah, GA):
- 1st Place – Onsite Art Painting

- National BETA Convention- Elementary Division (Nashville, TN):
- 5th Place – Onsite Art Painting (competing against schools from across the country!)

- This year, our BETA scholars showcased their exceptional talents at both the state and national levels:
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts was recognized for several additional awards and/or grants this school year: a 2025 Recipient of the Whole Food’s Foundation Kids Garden Grant-which helped to start NMAPA's first Garden Club and revamp the previous garden area at the school, a 2025 Recipient of the Elementary BETA National School of Merit Award, and a 2026 Recipient of the Gwinnett Pearls of Service Foundation-Andria Daniels’ Technology Grant, which annually helps support the schools STEM & Robotics programs.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts provides scholars opportunities in STEM. Nine finalists participated in the GCPS Regional Science, Engineering, and Innovation Fair. The school’s Robotics Competition Team (grades 3-5) participated in the First Lego League (FLL) Challenge Competition and received the “Core Values” award. The (2-3 grades) FLL team won two awards, the “Team Model” award and the “People’s Choice” award.
- Students continue to excel in visual and performing arts at North Metro Academy of Performing Arts by displaying their talent and hard work at various community events. The Dance Ensemble and Chorus performed at the annual Peachtree Corners Town Center Holiday Glow, and in April at the Norcross Cluster Innovation & Arts Fair, showcasing a feature from their annual spring musical, “Annie Jr, the Musical”, which they performed two shows of in May at Paul Duke STEM High School.
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts' Art program was featured at the City of Norcross' Art Splash Festival and at the Lawrenceville Arts Center for their summer exhibit titled, "America at 250: The View from Here."
- North Metro Academy of Performing Arts Parent/Family Center, funded by Title I, worked to engage families and provide resources to help their scholar improve school achievement. Title I Parent/Family Involvement events that were held include Curriculum night, Grandparent Involvement Day, Fall Arts Festival-Celebrating Hispanic Heritage, Literacy Night (paired with the GCPS Book Mobile-every student received a book), Holiday Family Luncheon, Black History Celebration, and STEM Day. Informational Workshops that were provided: Supporting Child Well-being & Mental Health, Importance of Attendance & Requirements, Georgia Milestones Parent Informational Session, and Rising Kindergarten Parent Session.
