- Rock Springs hosted our signature event, An Evening Around the World, an international night of celebration that brought together parents, community members, and students to honor our multicultural heritage. Sampling international foods and engaging in dances and crafts created a vibrant and enriching experience for students, families, and staff.
- We recognize the importance of supporting our students’ social-emotional well-being. We are excited to begin our third year of implementing a Guided Play Space for kindergarten and first-grade students. Through structured, guided play, children develop essential skills for interacting, collaborating, and building positive relationships with their peers.
- Rock Springs successfully completed its fourth year of Play 2 Learn classes for birth to pre-K children and their families. These sessions focused on building parents’ capacity to be their child’s first teacher while providing valuable group learning opportunities. A certified teacher facilitated activities covering readiness skills in communication, language, literacy, cognitive development, social-emotional growth, approaches to play and learning, and motor skill development.
- Our PTA strengthens our school community by hosting events like the Fall Festival, Family Dance, Bingo Night, and Color Run. This year, they enhanced student experiences by funding playground improvements, supporting field trips for all grades, and contributing to teacher appreciation efforts.
- Rock Springs continues to offer a variety of extracurricular clubs and activities, including Broadcast Team, Chorus, Drama, Girls on the Run, Math, Robotics, Reading, PBIS, P.E., Peer Leadership, and Student Council. Our Drama Club featured a captivating performance of Matilda, showcasing a talented cast of over thirty students. This year marked the tenth anniversary of drama productions at Rock Springs.
- Through quarterly “Coffee with the Principal” sessions, families connect directly with school leadership, receive timely updates, and participate in open conversations.
- Rock Springs Elementary recently welcomed authors Stan Tucker, Michael Levine, and Bethany Barton, providing students with engaging and meaningful literacy experiences. In the spring, first graders also enjoyed a visit from Parrot Productions, where they learned about parrots and compared them to the birds they see every day, making strong connections to Modules 3 and 4 of the EL Curriculum.
- Rock Springs families had the opportunity to participate in several parent workshops, including a cooking and nutrition class hosted by the University of Georgia, English language classes, the Raising Highly Capable Kids workshop, and sessions offering tips for parent conferences and technology support.
- Rock Springs hosted Kinder Camp in June to prepare rising kindergarten students for a successful start to school. The camp focused on building foundational early learning skills through engaging activities that promoted play, collaboration, sharing, listening, and following directions.
- Rock Springs received platinum-level recognition for 100% participation in the 2025 Gallup Q12 Engagement Survey.
