- Starling had many pathways for students to shine. They held their 2nd dramatic performance, "The Lion King," at Central Gwinnett's School of Performing Arts under Mikki Lewis's and the staff's direction. Students participated in several extra-curricular activities that allowed them to share and refine their talents outside of the classroom.
- Starling Elementary was nominated for the Engagement Award as a school and alongside the Grayson cluster for an Engagement award for their successful implemented innovative strategies to support the engagement of staff, families, and/or the community in the educational process.
- Starling was officially designated as a No Place for Hate® school for the 2024–2025 school year! This recognition is a testament to their incredible dedication, passion, and commitment to creating a more inclusive and respectful school community.
- Starling school administration and finance personnel was commended for striving towards financial excellence and for their financial audit. School personnel at all levels were transparent, collaborative, and supportive of a meaningful partnership in evaluation of financial performance.
- Starling Elementary celebrated culture and equity by celebrating its 3rd International experience, where students, staff, and parents showed their cultural background and honored the differences of others in the school and community. They also provided many opportunities to develop, support, and extend student learning and participation through Enrichment Clubs, Literacy Nights, cluster STEAM night, Fine Arts Nights, Chorus Programs, Saturday Enrichment Saturdays, student conferences, and many individual support resources.
- Starling offers a variety of leadership, enrichment, and club opportunities, including Jr. Beta Club and Student Council. Our students also have the opportunity to participate in the following clubs:

- Our school’s head custodian, Luis Medina, and the custodial staff were recognized for exemplary performance in county-level awards for the 2024-2025 school year.
- Starling was awarded a $5,000 grant from EMC thanks to Latoya Burse (STEM teacher)and gifts from the PTA and local business partners. They were also given $1,000 as the 2025 recipient of the Andria Daniels Technology Grant, awarded by the Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the Gwinnett Pearls of Service.
- Our students' academic achievement on district, state, and national assessments continues to show exceptional progress, a testament to the high-quality education at Starling Elementary.
- Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is an integral part of the day at Starling Elementary. To help foster a sense of belonging and connectedness in the classroom, all students engaged in a daily morning meeting led by their teacher. In addition to morning meetings, teachers lead SEL-specific lessons weekly that were developed by each grade level to ensure that lessons are timely and appropriate to student-specific needs.
