School Highlights

The following school highlights showcase how Stripling Elementary School is fulfilling Gwinnett County Public School's four strategic priorities of Empathy, Equity, Effectiveness, and Excellence. Visit the School Profile Dashboard to find more detailed data on our school.

  • Stripling Elementary is working toward STEM certification with the Georgia Department of Education, with all students participating in Project-Based Learning tasks and frequenting the STEM Community Garden, which was recognized with the 2025 “Most Sustainable School Garden” and “Blooming Achievement” awards by the UGA Cooperative Extension. The Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful organization considers Stripling a Green and Healthy School.
  • Stripling Elementary is a “Computer Science for All” school. All students can take a Computer Science humanities class, alongside STEM, Physical Education, Art, Music, and Health. Stripling offers Robotics for all grade levels - Discover (K-1st), Explore (2nd-3rd), and Challenge (4th-5th) - and all teams were awarded at the regional level last year.
  • Students at Stripling Elementary take advantage of multiple club and extracurricular activities, beyond Robotics, students also participate in Chorus, Guitar Club, Art Club, Girls on the Run, Boyz II Men, Chess Club, Environmental Club, Kindness Squad, Rising Rockets, Readers Rally, BLAST Leadership Team, and Good News Club. The school also partners with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America.
  • Mentoring programs are available at Stripling Elementary. For example, ‘Everybody Wins!’ partnered with the school to offer the Power Lunch reading mentoring program.
  • The Stripling Counseling Department planned Career Week activities, including Career Day. Community partner representatives spoke with students in grades K-5 to share about their jobs and get students excited about the future.
  • Stripling Elementary hosted community events to celebrate Stripling families and strengthen home-school relationships, including International Night, Trunk-or-Treat, STEM Night, a Family Dance, Field Day, Holiday Candlelight Luncheon, cultural heritage month celebrations, Kindergarten and 5th-grade celebrations, and a 5th-grade promotion ceremony. Stripling Elementary teachers hosted workshops on PBIS, SEL, Multilingual Learner supports, Literacy, and Math for families.
  • Stripling Elementary School partnered with our parents and families throughout the year. In addition to workshops, the school Parent Center held English Classes and nutrition classes and provided instructional resources to promote academic success for students. The School Council met regularly to provide input into school-wide initiatives. Our Play2Learn class for children aged 0-5 and a care-giver meets twice per week.
  • Stripling’s custodial team was again recognized for “exemplary custodial care” and Head Custodian of the Year.
  • The Georgia Department of Education recognized Stripling Elementary School with Operational status for implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in the last school year. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
  • Stripling Elementary is a preferred education destination because our students and staff want to visit this school building daily.
