- Suwanee Elementary School was honored by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement with the 2026 Highest Performing and Greatest Gains Platinum Awards, the state’s top distinctions for school excellence. This dual recognition reflects three consecutive years of exceptional student performance and sustained academic growth on Georgia’s Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS). These achievements place Suwanee Elementary in the top 1% of schools in Georgia, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to high‑quality teaching, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Suwanee Elementary offers students the opportunity to engage in a variety of extracurricular activities, which include Chess Club, Readers Rally, Art Club, PE Club, Robotics, Odyssey of the Mind, Compassion in Action, Suwanee Podcast, Peer Leadership, Good News Club, Suwanee Code Program, Whiz Kids, Big Hit Tennis, Yo-Yo Club, All Pro Dads, Honors Chorus, and Guitar Club.
- The Georgia Department of Education recognized Suwanee Elementary as both a Literacy Leader and Math Leader school for outstanding achievement and growth in reading and mathematics. These distinctions honor schools where 90% or more of third‑grade students perform at or above grade level in Reading on the Georgia Milestones Assessments (GMAS), and where the percentage of fifth‑grade students scoring Proficient or Above in mathematics increased. This recognition affirms Suwanee Elementary’s commitment to excellence in early literacy and numeracy, and its success in ensuring students build strong academic foundations.
- Student leadership is a vital part of Suwanee Elementary's school culture. One outlet of student leadership is evident in our Be the Leader Student Council. BTL Council members work on projects with school leaders, serve as role models for younger students, participate in community service opportunities, and act as ambassadors for our school.
- Suwanee students in 2nd–5th grade participated in our local school STEM Science Fair, led by STEM teacher Mrs. Karen Phillips, showcasing creativity, inquiry, and problem‑solving. The three school‑level winners advanced to the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) District STEM Science Fair, representing Suwanee with excellence. Suwanee 4th‑grade student Santiago Grattz Lara earned the GCPS Science Fair GC&B Rising Star Special Award for his project, “How Might We Create a Cheap Energy Source for Remote Communities?”, demonstrating innovative thinking and a commitment to real‑world problem solving.
- Student leaders attended the annual Gwinnett County Elementary Peer Leader Conference to participate in student leadership development and collaborate with other students across the district.
- Family Engagement Nights continue to bring our school community together to celebrate and connect. These nights include Arts and International Night, Story Night, Jaguar GlowFest, and our fun-filled Bingo family nights.
- The Suwanee Elementary PTO continues to support our school vision. Suwanee PTO donated over $19,000 to add additional outdoor classroom equipment, fund classroom teacher grants, and support programs for students and families.
