- The Walnut Grove PTA was actively involved in the school, supporting all aspects of teaching and learning and funding educational resources. The PTA sponsored our annual Eaglefest event, cultural arts programs, staff appreciation events, and numerous family events.
- Mrs. Carol Kinney, a 1st-grade teacher, was selected by her peers as Walnut Grove Elementary's 2023 - 2024 Teacher of the Year recipient.
- Walnut Grove partnered with North Metro Baptist Church in the KIDS HOPE USA mentoring program.
- The following staff members received Collins Hill Education Foundation (CHEF) grants: Myra Lynn McCurry for “Music is KEY-boards,” Laurie Rundqwist for “Do You See What I See,” Amy Bross and Ashton Oellerich for “Educating With Osmos,” Amy Bross and Laurie Rundqwist for “Designing in 3D,” and Allie Baker for “Universal Swing Chair.”
- Walnut Grove hosted its second International Night, attended by over 15 countries.
- Walnut Grove implemented the Play2Learn program for the second year, increasing it from 19 participants to 32.
- Walnut Grove, in support of the North Gwinnett Co-Op, was able to collect and give 2,747 pounds of needed groceries to those in need.
- Walnut Grove partnered with Kroger to support the “No Hunger, No Waste” initiative and collected over 1,000 pounds of stretchable plastic.
- Walnut Grove successfully incorporated PBIS schoolwide for the 2023 - 2024 school year.
- Walnut Grove raised money to continue updating the school playground with the addition of basketball goals.
