- Walnut Grove Elementary’s Robotics Team had a remarkable season, advancing to the Georgia Ramblin’ Robots Invitational at Georgia Tech. Team members demonstrated creativity, collaboration, and technical skills as they designed, build, and programmed a robot to complete competition missions. Their success reflects the hard work of our students and the growing impact of STEM education at Walnut Grove.
- Walnut Grove Elementary partnered with Gwinnett Amateur Radio Club to conduct “fox” hunts and weather balloon launches to support our STEM initiative.
- The strong sense of community at Walnut Grove extends beyond the classroom. The school participates in local initiatives such as the “Zero Hunger Zero Waste Campaign” and operates a “Care Closet” supporting families in need.
- Walnut Grove Elementary spoke to astronaut Christopher Williams on the International Space Station. The students learned how radios send signals all the way to space and how curiosity connects us to the stars. It was an out of this world adventure.
- Walnut Grove hosted their 4th Annual International Night with a RECORD number of participants. Students from all backgrounds shared their culture through food, dance, and displays with the community.
- Walnut Grove Elementary hosted our 2nd Lego League Explorer and Discover Club with a total of 5 teams. These students embraced STEM throughout the school year and continue to hit milestones in science and math exploration.
- Walnut Grove Elementary hosted 14 independent clubs to promote equitable opportunities. These included clubs such as the Coding Club, Art Club, Brilliant Braniacs, Chess Club, Chorus, Cosmic Kids Yoga, Cultivating Minds, Curator Club, Running Club, Girls Impact, Robotics, and First Lego League.
- Walnut Grove Elementary received recognition for teachers’ attention to Cyber Security with 100% completion of Cyber Security Awareness.
- Walnut Grove is proud to support families in need each week through the Walnut Grove Care Closet.
- Walnut Grove Elementary completed their 2nd year with the All-Pro Dad group and continue to build relationships with these special men and celebrate the impact that they have on their students’ lives.
- Walnut Grove is proud of the community impact on our small hometown school. Our incredible PTA, innovative staff, and focus on teaching and learning makes us a special spot in Gwinnett County.
