- GSMST was awarded the 2025-26 GOSA (Governor's Office of Student Achievement) Award in two categories: Highest Academic Achievement and Greatest Gains. GSMST won the Platinum award in Academic Achievement and Platinum award in Greatest Gains for performance over the last three school years. This level represents the top 1% of all schools in Georgia.
- GSMST was acknowledged by the Georgia Department of Education as a 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) Honor School in six categories: AP Access and Support School, AP Humanities School, AP Humanities Achievement School, AP STEM School, and AP STEM Achievement School. Additionally, GSMST was awarded the “Platinum” achievement level from the College Board for AP academic achievement in 2025.
- GSMST students are shining in both performing and visual arts. The Orchestra, Band, and Chorus programs continue to receive straight superior ratings at the Large Group Performance Evaluations, sponsored by the Georgia Music Educators Association in 2026. Additionally, multiple students participated and won awards in the All State Art Symposium, Scholastic, Shutter Sense and Capitol Art Exhibit in 2025-26.
- GSMST led the state in SAT and ACT scores in 2025.
- The GSMST Readers Rally team won their fourth straight championship title in the 2026 District Readers Rally Championship.
- GSMST students excelled at the Gwinnett Regional Science Fair, the Georgia Science Fair, and the International Science Fair in 2026. The school celebrated over 25 projects that placed first at the Gwinnett Science Fair, over 12 projects that placed first in their categories at the Georgia State Science Fair, and 5 projects that advanced to the International Science Fair in 2026.
- GSMST was awarded the title of “Literacy Leader” school by the Georgia Department of Education in 2025-26 for the achievement and growth shown on the 2025 ELA Milestones.
- GSMST students excelled in the area of computer science, technology and robotics in 2025-26. The school had 13 teams compete in the Lockheed Martin’s CodeQuest in 2026 with top 3 finishes, the GSMST FRC Robotics team received the overall Engineering Award at the District Qualifier event, 18 student teams placed in the top 10 for their events at the TSA state conference, the CS Honor Society won Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow app contest, and 8 student teams placed in the top 10 for their events at the FBLA state conference.
- 100% of students completed and passed the End of Pathway exam in Engineering, and 100% of the students who took the End of Pathway exam in Entrepreneurship and Biotechnology passed. Students at GSMST have opportunities to experience CTAE courses and pathways in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurship, Game Design, Audio Visual Technology, Engineering, and Biotechnology.
- The GSMST Mock Trial team excelled this year, and students took home 10 out of 12 possible individual awards in the district competition.
