  • US News and World Report named Paul Duke STEM High as one of the Best High Schools in Georgia. Paul Duke STEM HS was ranked as one of the top 25 high schools in metro Atlanta.
  • 137 seniors graduated as Honors Graduates, and these graduating seniors at Paul Duke STEM High School were recognized as scholarship winners from the following groups: National Merit, QuestBridge, POSSE, and Jack Ken Cooke foundations.
  • The Georgia Department of Education named Paul Duke STEM High School an Advanced Placement (AP) Honors School in six categories. In addition, Paul Duke STEM High School earned Silver recognition on the 2023 AP School Honor Roll from the College Board.
  • Paul Duke STEM received a 5-star School Climate rating on our 2024 College and Career Ready Performance Index. The rating is based on four components:  
    1. Student, teacher, and parent perceptions of a school’s climate
    2. Student discipline
    3. A safe and substance-free learning environment
    4. School-wide attendance
  • A Paul Duke STEM High School student was named one of the top teenage scientists in the world by the Society for Science. Chloe Au, a senior at Paul Duke STEM High, made the list of the top 300 scholars in the Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) competition. Chloe earned her place in the competition with her research project titled, “The Role of Myc in Tunicate Central Nervous System Development.”
  • The Paul Duke STEM High School Technology Student Association (TSA) finished the Georgia State Competition with seven 1st-place teams and 16 Top 10 Finishes. Ultimately, we finished as the Best TSA Chapter in the state of Georgia, which was our first TSA State Championship.
  • A team of Paul Duke STEM students finished in 2nd place in the Nation in the Otis - Made to Move Communities competition!  This outstanding achievement earned our school an impressive $15,000 award!
  • Dr. Wetherington was named the 2025 Gwinnett County Mary Joe Hannaford Counselor Administrator of the Year for his support of our counseling program.
  • The Georgia Department of Education has recognized our school as a Math Leader School  This recognition is based on our student growth in Algebra. 
  • Stacker and Niche ranked Paul Duke STEM High School as the 13th best high school in metro Atlanta with a Niche grade of A+.
