South Gwinnett High School's innovative 3DE by Junior Achievement program transforms the traditional high school experience by integrating rigorous academics, Advanced Placement coursework, real-world business case challenges, and career-connected learning. Students collaborate with industry professionals to solve authentic business problems while preparing for college, careers, and leadership through senior internships and project-based learning.
National JROTC Excellence
South Gwinnett's nationally recognized JROTC program continues to demonstrate excellence in leadership and academic competition. Two student teams earned qualification for the prestigious JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) National Championship in Washington, D.C., showcasing exceptional leadership, teamwork, and academic achievement on the national stage.
Georgia AP Honors School
South Gwinnett High School was proudly named a 2026 Georgia AP Honors School, recognizing the school's commitment to expanding access to rigorous college-level coursework. Through increased enrollment, student support, and academic success, more scholars than ever are earning college credit while still in high school.
"Live From Surgery" Medical Experience
Students experienced an unforgettable learning opportunity through "Live From Surgery," where they observed a live-streamed kidney transplant performed by medical professionals. This immersive event connected classroom science to real-world healthcare while inspiring future physicians, researchers, and medical professionals.
Google Master Class
Students participated in an exclusive Google Master Class, engaging directly with Google professionals to explore innovation, technology, problem-solving, and career pathways in the technology industry. The experience strengthened students' digital literacy while exposing them to careers in one of the world's leading technology companies.
STEM Competition Success
South Gwinnett scholars continue to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by earning top honors at district and state competitions. Through research, engineering design, innovation, and scientific inquiry, students showcased their talents while representing South Gwinnett with distinction.
Market Day Entrepreneurship Showcase
The annual Market Day event empowers student entrepreneurs to transform classroom ideas into real businesses. Students develop business plans, create products and services, market their brands, and pitch their ventures while gaining valuable experience in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business management.
West Point Leadership Experience
Selected students hosted the United States Military Academy at West Point for an immersive leadership development experience. Scholars explored college opportunities while participating in leadership workshops, team-building activities, and discussions focused on service, character, and excellence.
Public Service and Law Academy
Students in the Public Service and Law Academy apply classroom learning through meaningful community-based projects that address real-world issues. These authentic experiences strengthen civic engagement while preparing students for careers in law, public safety, criminal justice, government, and public service.
Award-Winning "Band of Stars"
South Gwinnett's Band of Stars continues a tradition of musical excellence by earning top honors in regional performances while providing students with outstanding leadership and performance opportunities. The program has also helped graduating seniors earn over $7,000,000 in college scholarships, opening doors to higher education through their musical talents.
