  • Couch Middle School has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a Math Leader School! The recognition is based on the following:

    • Gateway Growth:
      8 MA: 10-point or higher increase compared to 23-24  

    • Gateway Achievement:
      Earn 90% or higher for P&D in either 8th Math or Algebra: C&C on the 2024-2025 Georgia Milestones assessments.

    • Outstanding Achievement is 98% P&D or higher.

  • Couch Middle School  has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a "Literacy Leader School"! This prestigious recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our language arts teachers and students.  The specific areas of recognition for Couch Middle School are:

    • 6th Grade Gateway Growth

    • 8th Grade Achievement

    • 8th Grade Growth

  • Couch Middle School Readers Rally crew rocked it, snagging their second GCPS Division Readers Rally Championship! They crushed it against McConnell Middle, Dacula Middle, Twin Rivers Middle, Lilburn Middle, Pinckneyville Middle, and Northbrook Middle Schools. On February 28, our Readers Rally Team was victorious against, Bay Creek and North Gwinnett Middle School and earned their title as the GCPS Middle School Champions!

  • Couch Middle School Chorus Director, Chase Cooper, and our wonder chorus earned the 2025 Best Communities for Music Education Award from The NAMM Foundation. The collective efforts of teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders have been instrumental in making music part of a well-rounded education for every child at Couch Middle School. We applaud their unwavering commitment to creating an environment where each child can learn and grow with music.

  • Couch Middle School's Spelling Bee winner, Ibrahim Salah, advanced to Regionals as one of the GCPS Top 17 Qualifiers.

  • Couch Middle School Orchestra earned all SUPERIOR RATINGS in all categories under our new Orchestra director, Hannah Cho.

  • Couch Middle School Boys Soccer finished the season ranked #1 and undefeated!  They also participated in the playoffs.

  • Couch Middle School Boys Basketball team qualified for the playoffs.

  • Couch Middle School earned the Platinum Award for Exemplary Textbook Inventory.
