- Creekland Middle School was recognized as a Math Leader School from the Georgia Department of Education because our students demonstrated 10-point or higher increase compared to 23-24 milestones scores in 8th grade and 3-point or higher growth in Algebra in 8th grade.
- Our 8th grade students have the opportunity enroll in six different courses for which they can receive high school Carnegie Unit credit that counts towards graduation.
- Our Fine Arts department continues to flourish in Chorus, Orchestra, and Band. Our students received high marks in their Large Group Performance Evaluations in Band, Orchestra and Chorus. Creekland students also represented our fine arts program in all county performances demonstrating their high level of proficiency in these areas.
- We hosted several performances this year in which students astounded the audience. In the fall the 8th grade advanced class performed an original production entitled " Folktales Reimagined" and our 7th grade advanced students performed "Mythic Adventures". During the winter, our drama students shared their talents with the entire cluster as they performed "Willy Wonka Jr" in the spring in the Theater at Collins Hill Highschool.
- We offer a diverse range of clubs and extra-curricular activities, including three Foreign Language courses (French, German, & Spanish), STEM, Computer Science, Robotics club, Drama class with annual productions, Girl Talk, Boy Talk, Student Council, Peer Leaders, Yearbook club, intramurals and Student Advisory Council.
- Creekland participated in several new sports this year, including Girls' Volleyball, Cross Country, and Girls' and Boys' Soccer. Several of our Cross-Country athletes received medals at various meets. Both the Girls' and Boys' basketball teams advanced to the playoffs, and notably, the Boys' Soccer Team achieved playoff status during their first year competing at the district level. Our middle school athletics program includes Girls' and boys' Basketball, Cheerleading, Girls' Volleyball, Girls' and boys' Cross Country, Girls' and boys' Soccer and Dance.
- Creekland Middle School's commitment to fostering positive behavior was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education. We were awarded Operational status for our successful implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in the last school year, which encourages and rewards students for exhibiting appropriate school conduct.
- Our school continues to welcome all cultures as we hosted our second annual "Multi cultural Night" in which families from the over 30 countries represented in our school shared their dances, food and displayed information about their native countries.
- Creekland Middle School received a Jackson EMC Bright Ideas Grant to support hand on learning. Ms. Rivera-Suarez has demonstrated her commitment to ensuring that all students have access to innovative teaching methods by writing this grant for our school.
- The Creekland Counseling Team hosted a cluster meeting with all counselors from the Collins Hill Cluster to discuss partnerships and wraparound services within our community. Cluster counselors collectively developed plans to provide greater support to all students at all schools within the Collins Hill Cluster.
