  • In its second year of existence, the Crews BroncoBots competed in VEX Worlds in Dallas, TX. This is the largest international robotics competition in the world, with 500 middle school teams participating from across the globe. Students immersed themselves in engineering, creative problem-solving, design, and teamwork. The BroncoBots competed and won seven of ten matches, which was the most of any Georgia middle school.
  • One of our students achieved remarkable success in the Young Georgia Author Competition, being selected as the winner across three levels: district grade-level winner, district middle school-level winner, and RESA-level third-place winner.
  • Our students participated in the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair 2024. Crews MS earned the highest Middle School award, The Junior Division Pinnacle Award, along with the following awards: Department of Defense STEM Leadership Prize, American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics, Atlanta Section Award, Agricultural Research Service Award for Excellence in Agricultural Research, Office of Naval Research Naval Science Award, Best in Category - Environmental Engineering, and the Georgia Science & Engineering Fair Outstanding 8th Grade Project.
  • The Crews Campaign for CommUnity empowers the school community through service hours and donations. By connecting to passion and purpose, Crews students and staff raised over 17,000 dollars and collected over 1,400 items to support local non-profit organizations.
  • Crews Middle School submitted eleven entries into the Georgia PTA Reflections competition. Ten of those entries advanced to the county level, and eight advanced to the state level.
  • Crews Middle School hosted its annual Charity Fair in February. Students presented projects to the school community focused on organizations tackling real-world issues. These eighth-grade language arts projects infused creative/critical thinking, collaboration, and communication while promoting social awareness and engagement.
  • Crews Middle School has a robust performing arts program, including orchestra, chorus, and band. All programs earned superior ratings in Large Group Performance Evaluations (LGPE) and had several students identified as “All-State.”  Additionally, the band program was the only GCPS middle school with four ensembles at LGPE, and all earned superior ratings.
  • Crews Middle School opened its Blazin’ Bronco Nature Trail and Outdoor Classroom thanks to collaboration between staff and the local Girl Scouts. This outdoor initiative will help support our sustainability and sensory programs and promote differentiated instruction and hands-on learning.
  • Crews Middle School selected 15 students to participate in Zaxby’s Challenge 2024. The challenge was to start a software developer company and create an app for Zaxby’s challenge. Three students were selected as top winners.
  • Crews Middle School teachers and staff continue to earn significant awards. The Crews Middle School Teacher of the Year (TOTY) was named a Top 25 finalist for Gwinnett County Public Schools. The head custodian was awarded for 15 years of exemplary service and school inspections. Three teachers participated in the 2023-2024 Teachers as Leader Program cohort. One teacher was selected for the Aspiring Leader Program (ALP), which primes teachers for local school and district-level leadership roles.
