The Jordan Middle School Robotic Team has achieved a remarkable feat, winning 1st place at the Super Regionals! This unique accomplishment is a testament to the dedication and talent of our students, filling us all with pride and inspiration.
Ms. Stacey Edison-Bryson has once again demonstrated her innovative teaching methods by winning a Jackson EMC Bright Ideas grant for her project, "Learn to Fly through Coding". This project, which encourages students to explore the world of coding, is making a significant impact and we are all impressed and supportive of her efforts.
JMS has once again exceeded expectations. Nationally, about 50% of students achieve their expected typical growth, and 25% meet their stretch growth through iReady. We are proud that JMS has a 62% typical growth and 38% stretch growth in math! This is a significant step towards the academic success of each and every student at our school.
Jordan is proud to announce our first year in the playoffs for boys' basketball! Our boys are showing they can excel both inside and outside the classroom.
JMS Band scored all Superiors in our Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE). They continue to excel in music and academics.
Jordan Middle School is proud of the number of students who are meeting the standards to enter the gifted and talented program. Our numbers moved from 9% to 13% in one year, and our students are continuing to show what they know.
Both our NJHS and our Jr. Beta Club inducted more than 300 students this past year. The standards for entering these programs are rigorous, and our students are stepping up.
JMS continues to be recognized for our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) program efforts. Our students are learning conflict resolution skills and how to effectively interact with people on a daily basis. Our discipline numbers are down, and our academic success continues to rise.
JMS is proud of its academic success. On our district assessments, we move well above our Title I peers. We consistently score well above the level of expectation and are currently competing with non-title schools to exceed expected standards.
JMS is proud of our relationship with the Kyle Pitts Foundation. His foundation is committed to our school and ensuring our students are focused on teaching and learning. At the end of the first semester, The Kyle Pitts Foundation donated gaming chairs, coach purses, Beats headphones, PlayStation 5s, and more to the students who exceeded standards on their district assessments. Other students who improved significantly received a pizza party, and teachers were awarded a staff luncheon and signed football jerseys for their consistent commitment to excellence for our students.
