School Highlights

The following school highlights showcase how Moore Middle School is fulfilling Gwinnett County Public School's four strategic priorities of Empathy, Equity, Effectiveness, and Excellence. Visit the School Profile Dashboard to find more detailed data on our school.

  • The Moore Middle Gear Up Program supported 43 students in achieving success this school year. This unique program built a community of students from 9 different GCPS middle schools to complete courses that met both 8th and 9th grade promotion requirements in one school year. Students who successfully completed the program were promoted to 10th grade for the upcoming school year and will only need 3 years of high school to graduate.
  • Moore Middle Art Club members got a special chance to view the Giants exhibit at the High Museum of Art through the Art Access Grant Program in November this year. Our Visual Art Program displayed the work of 52 students at this year’s Tapestry Art Show.
  • Ten Moore Middle students had art featured at the 4th Annual Art Show at the Central Gwinnett School of the Arts. The Art Show featured works from student artists in Art & Design Departments of the Central Gwinnett Cluster schools.
  • Moore Middle School Robotics Team participated in the First Lego League 24-25 "Submerge" Competition at Discovery High School on Dec 7, 2024. Our team placed 5th on the Robot Games out of 25 Gwinnett County Schools District teams.
  • The Velocity Mentoring Program at Moore Middle School, in partnership with Boy With a Ball, supported over two dozen of our students on a weekly basis. Central Gwinnett High School students were trained to effectively mentor Moore Middle School students in conflict resolution, decision-making, and leadership skills. Several of our former students who participated in Velocity and were mentored by Central Gwinnett High School students are now mentoring our current Moore Middle School students.
  • The Moore Middle School Black Knight Readers Rally Team placed in the top three at the annual countywide Readers Rally competition. The team went on to compete in the countywide finals.
  • The Moore Middle Band, Chorus, and Orchestra programs all earned Superior ratings at this year’s Large Group Performance Evaluation.
  • The Moore Middle Counseling Program met the criteria to become a Recognized ASCA Model Program by the American School Counselor Association. The RAMP designation is earned through a rigorous application process and meeting high standards in the quality of support the school’s counseling program provides to their student. The RAMP designation validates our counseling team’s commitment to supporting our students at high level on a daily basis.
  • Moore Middle’s Peer Leadership Club partnered with Peer Leaders at Central High School to host a Peer Leader’s Mini-Conference at Moore Middle. Moore's Peer Leaders took what they learned to create their own Mini-Conference which was then presented to 6th Grade students in our building. These Mini-Conferences helped students learn leadership skills taught by students, facilitating positive cultural shifts throughout our school.
