- Summerour hosted our 2nd Annual “Police and Kids” basketball game, making connections and fostering mentorship with Gwinnett County Public Schools SROs and local police departments.
- Summerour hosted the “Step Ya Game Up” Step Competition. Schools from Gwinnett and Dekalb counties participated to support and encourage the sport of Step. Summerour Gifted Steppers placed 2nd in the competition.
- Summerour believes in the value of student mentoring programs. This year our Blue Roses were able to tour Spelman College and participate in a dance workshop on campus.
- Summerour prides itself on a robust Fine Arts program. Band, Orchestra and Chorus scored Excellent and Superiors during performance and sight-reading events. In addition, 15 students were chosen for District 13 Honor Chorus. Summerour also started a Dance program during the 2023-2024 school year.
- Summerour Middle School students participated in the countywide Tapestry Art Show. Over 30 students showcased their art at the Instructional Support Center. In addition, 25 students showcased art at the Norcross Cluster Art show. Summerour’s National Junior Art Society participated in a variety of programming including touring the High Museum.
- Summerour Middle School students participated in the Norcross Cluster STEM Innovation Showcase by conducting demonstrations in Robotics.
- Summerour Middle School had seven projects presented at the Gwinnett Science and Engineering Fair. Summerour was chosen to receive the Broadcom Foundation Award. An 8th grader was highlighted and awarded a $250 Gift Card and a Raspberry Pi programming device for “Coding with Commitment."
- Summerour Robotics won 2nd place in Core Values at the local competition and also advanced to the Regional Competition. Summerour was chosen as “Rising All-Star Team” by the event judges.
- Summerour Middle School embraces diversity of students and its staff. Each year the school hosts an International Night in which different cultures are celebrated. Summerour presented “50 Years of Hip Hop” at our annual Black History Program. Summerour also collaborated with the City of Norcross to host a Hispanic Heritage Celebration.
- Summerour's Junior Leadership Corp participated in a variety of events at Raider and Drill competitions. JLC also collaborated with Environmental club to promote healthy lifestyles for young people.
