  • Summerour hosted our 3rd Annual Cops N Kids Basketball game providing an opportunity for students and staff to engage in a friendly competition with GCPS School Resource Officers and local police.

  • Summerour promoted the first group of Dual Language Immersion students to high school.  Many of these students started learning English and Spanish at Baldwin Elementary in Kindergarten nine years ago.  Next year they will begin Spanish IV at the HS level.

  • Summerour hosted our first 1st Student Leadership Conference – OUR Voice, OUR Actions, OUR Tomorrow.  Many teachers and community leaders came and presented lessons to build student leadership capacity.

  • Summerour Dance and the Summerour DJDC Dance Company performed at several events throughout the year including the Gwinnett County Multicultural Festival, Paul Duke Dance Night, and the Black Arts, Culture, and Education Celebration at Lawrenceville Arts Center.

  • Summerour was designated as a Math Leader School from the Georgia Department of Education.

  • Summerour’s Student Council received a GA State Capitol Proclamation for their hard work and dedication to service and the community.

  • Summerour earned the distinction of a Project S.A.V.E. School, as a result of dedicated training and preparedness for health emergencies.

  • Over 75 students and 18 staff members were trained as peer mentors for the Sources of Strength program supporting social emotional health and leadership.

  • Over 59% of students demonstrated high growth toward proficiency on the Access English Proficiency exam, and over 30 students exited the ESOL program.

  • Summerour hosted our 3rd annual Holiday Extravaganza – an annual gift and food giveaway for our entire Norcross Community, where over 300 families benefited from this charity event.

  • Summerour students engaged in Science extended learning opportunities at the Tellus Museum, Georgia Aquarium, and Piedmont Park. 

  • Summerour leads the way in high quality mentoring programs and service opportunities.  Young men participate in Blue Crew, while young ladies participate in Blue Roses.  

  • Summerour hosted area step teams for the 2nd Annual Step Competition – Step Ya’ Game Up.

  • Summerour’s 8th grade Individual and Societies students participated in a talk with Georgia Representatives to gain knowledge about preserving the Okefenokee Forest and other Georgia water resources.
