  • Sweetwater Middle School has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as Distinguish Behavior School based on our successful PBIS program.
  • Sweetwater Middle School has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as Math Leader School.
  • Sweetwater Middle School DLI lead teacher received the GCPS PEAK award (Professionalism, Experience, Achievement, and Knowledge). This recognition was given to only 34 teachers in GCPS.
  • Sweetwater Middle School First Lego League received the award for Best Robot Design at the Lego Robotic Competition.
  • Sweetwater Middle School Multilingual Lead teachers participated of the 23rd Annual ESOL Conference at KSU. This experience equipped our multilingual teachers with new strategies and initiatives to be implemented at our school.
  • Sweetwater Middle School has been implementing new initiatives to support our families and our community. We have been working a food drive, we have created open spaces for families to share with the school their concerns and recommendations.
  • In the Science area, Sweetwater Middle School students participated of the GCPS Science Fair. Twelve project received the second and third places in their respective categories. Our school has a big commitment to increase students' capacity and talents.
  • During the month of May Sweetwater Middle School celebrated the International Night. Students, staff members, faculty members and community members had the opportunity to display their talents in their native language and showing their culture.
  • Twenty of our families and students participated of our English classes. This experience helped to increase their English fluency.
  • Sweetwater Middle School has a big commitment to support our students' needs and we believe every student can achieve. During this school year we created and offered a strong intervention support to our students.
