  • Twin Rivers was recently recognized for being a Blue Ribbon School. The National Blue Ribbon Schools is the United States Department of Education’s award program honoring high-performing schools and schools that are making great strides in closing achievement gaps.

  • Twin Rivers was recently recognized as Math Leader for the state of Georgia. Math Leader qualifications are based on students achieving the Proficient Learner level or above on the Georgia Milestones mathematics assessments. 

  • Twin Rivers was recently recognized as a Operational Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports(PBIS)by the state of Georgia. "Operational" signifies that a school is implementing PBIS with a high degree of fidelity, meeting specific outcome data measures.

  • Twin Rivers offers multiple clubs and student organizations for students to get involved in. The Distinguished Gentlemen and Leading Ladies student organizations are designed for students to learn leadership principles and collaborate effectively amongst their peers. The Robotics club qualified to compete in the Georgia VEX middle school state competition.

  • Twin Rivers offers a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) based curriculum for 8th grade students that are selected based upon their academic performance. Twenty-eight students amazing projects moved on to the GCPS Science and Engineering Fair where all projects earned 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place recognition in their category. One Twin Rivers student qualified for the state Science and Engineering Fair.

  • Twin Rivers 8th grade STEM team participated in the Nordson Essay contest. The topic was: The Nordson essay contest, is a program designed to engage students in STEM fields. Specifically, it involves an essay contest where students write on STEM-related topics. All STEM students participated, and three students were awarded brand new laptops.

  • Twin Rivers has expanded the athletic programs by offering Basketball, Cross Country, Volleyball, and Soccer. The Boy's Basketball Team qualified for the Middle School GCPS tournament. The Boy's Soccer Team also had an impressive regular season beating top ranked teams.

  • Twin Rivers hosted the 6th Grade County Honor Orchestra for students from Trickum MS, Dacula MS, Northbrook MS, and Hull MS. Twin Rivers 7th and 8th grade Orchestra students received straight Superior ratings for their performances on stage and in the sight-reading room.

  • Twin Rivers Chorus was invited and performed at the State of Georgia Teacher of the Year Banquet in May 2025—an incredible honor and opportunity to represent our school and community. Twin Rivers 7th and 8th grade chorus students received Straight Superior scores in Performance and Superior in Sight Reading at Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) for the third consecutive year. Twenty-seven of our top-performing students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades performed at the GMEA District 13 District Honor Chorus in Athens, GA. 

  • Twin Rivers Middle School Band had students participate in the Georgia Music Educators Association All-State Band first round auditions.  One student passed the audition to make it to the second round of auditions.  That student was awarded a seat in the GMEA District XIII Honor Band.  One of our 8th grade flutists earned a seat in the GMEA District XIII Flute Choir.

  • The TRMS 7B Bear Pride Band participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation earning Excellent ratings for their stage performance and a Superior rating in their sight-reading performance.

  • The TRMS 8B Bear Pride Band participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation earning Excellent ratings for their stage performance and a Superior rating in their sight-reading performance.

  • Twenty band students participated in the GMEA Solo & Ensemble Small Group Performance Evaluation.  Our soloists and ensemble participants earned Superior and Excellent ratings for their performances. Twin Rivers had nine students participate in the GMEA First Year Honor Band.
