     Registration Overview

      

    To register your kindergarten student for the 2020/2021 school year, please follow the registration steps listed below.

    •    Be sure to select the 2020/2021 school year in the OLR menu.
    •    Your student must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2020
    •    If you have older students who currently attend Gwinnett County Public Schools, you do NOT need to register those studentsSimply add your kindergarten student to the OLR system.

    Registration steps

     

    Step 1:  Gather Documentation

    Much of the registration process, including the uploading of documents needed for registration, will be completed online. Most document attachments (PDF, JPG, DOC, PNG, etc.) are compatible. The file-size limit is 2 MB. Families that are unable to obtain the required immunization and/or screening documents due to the COVID-19 situation will be given additional time to obtain those documents but should go ahead and begin the online registration process.

    What you need for online registration:

    • An official document showing proof of birth date
    • Evidence of vision, hearing, dental, and nutrition screenings obtained in the past year (a current Georgia Form #3300-Rev. 2013)
    • A valid Certificate of Immunization (Georgia Form #3231)
    • Proof that you live in the attendance zone
    • Proof of authorized person to enroll and a photo ID for the adult registering the child
    • Your child’s social security number (or you may sign a waiver at the school)

    Step 2:  Active Email Address

    The Online Registration System requires that parents have an ACTIVE e-mail address. If you do not have an email account, it is easy to create one.
    Below are three sites and providers that are frequently used and are free of charge.
    (You do not have to use one of these providers. These are just suggestions)


    • Google’s Gmail https://accounts.google.com/
    • SignUp Yahoo! Mail https://login.yahoo.com/config/login
    • Microsoft’s Outlook http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-com/

     

     

    Step 3:  Create a New Account (Existing Parent log into their Parent Portal)

    You will receive an e-mail stating that your online account has been created successfully. The e-mail will contain a link that sends you to the Confirm Registration page and then to the Create Password page. (See examples below.)

    Step 4:  Begin Online Registration

    Click Here to begin the registration process.  If you need help uploading registration documents to the OLR, please view these instructions.

    • Select the School Year 2020-2021 from the drop-down menu.

     

    • Select Exclude Older Siblings if appropriate. (You will use this option if you are using an Existing Parent Portal Account and have students currently enrolled for 2020-2021.) If you are registering a kindergartner with older siblings who are displayed in the Student Tab, you will need to exclude these older siblings from this 2020-2021 registration submission. (See example on the right.) To exclude these older siblings, click on the Exclude button for each student.

     

    • Click the Add Student button to add your student. Complete all the information, following the prompts.

     

    • Submit when finished.

     

    Step 5:  Registration Verification

    When you complete the Online Registration, the county will alert the Registrar at Stripling Elementary.  The Registrar will then contact you to verify your registration.  Please note, your student will not be assigned to a class until all required documents have been uploaded.

     

     Periodically check the website of your child’s future school for updates on these activities.

    Online Withdrawal

    We wish your child the best during the transition to a new school. Our school system has an easy-to-use, secure online withdrawal process that will allow you to complete the form required for withdrawing your child.

    Once you complete and submit the online withdrawal form, you will be contacted by a school representative to verify your ID and to provide you with any additional information necessary to complete the withdrawal if needed for your child.

    If using a browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) other than Internet Explorer (IE), in order to complete the form and submit it, you will need to do the following steps:

    Withdrawal Completion Process

    1. Parents will complete and submit the withdrawal form by following the directions above.

    2. Upon completion of the withdrawal form by the parent, the school will review the form and will contact the parent, if needed, for any missing information.

    3. The school will contact the parent to set up a virtual meeting to verify the identity of the withdrawing parent.

    4. After verifying the identity of the withdrawing parent, the school will email the parent prior to sending the completed withdrawal form. This initial email will provide parents with directions on how to open an encrypted PDF message sent by Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS).

    5. The school will finalize the withdrawal process by securely emailing the encrypted withdrawal form.

    6. An Enrollment Verification Form will also be included in this email. This form should be completed by the student’s new school and faxed back to Stripling Elementary to complete the process.
