Mr. Thomas Trippany

Dear Family and Friends,

What more can be said about the 2020-2021 school year?   Our faculty, staff, and students did a fabulous job adjusting to the change as we used multiple teaching models to accommodate our digital and in-person students.  In addition, we had to adjust to the changes in class sizes as students merged back into the in-person model. Last year was without a doubt the most challenging year to be a teacher and a student.  I am so blessed and proud to be a part of this school and this wonderful community.  The 2021-2022 school year will be my 11th year as the proud principal of Shiloh Elementary.

As we begin to work to open school for the 2021-2022 school year, the district will continue to monitor and adjust to the recommended changes issued by the Health Department.    We have quadrupled the amount of times available for our back to school registration/meet the teacher.  In the next week or so, you will get a message that will allow you to sign up for an appointment on July 29th and July 30th to meet your teacher(s).  New Shiloh parents who have not yet registered will also use that form to sign up for a convenient time.   New parents will also have additional opportunities to register their children in July by appointment.  Please call the school or check our website for more details.

Gwinnett County Public Schools has decided to stagger the start of school this year.  See below for start dates by grade level.

August 4th – Kindergarten and 1st Grade, and all self-contained special education classes

August 5th – 2nd and 3rd Grades (Digital Learning on August 4th)

August 9th – 4th and 5th Grades (Digital Learning on August 4th, 5th and 6th)

As you can see, our 2nd-5th graders will begin the year digitally.  If you will need a computer and/or hotspot for the digital day(s), you will be able to check one out when you come to meet the teacher on your chosen date (July 29th or 30th).  Again, the sign-up link will be coming in the next week or so.

If you have a new student, please get them registered as soon as possible, so we can get them placed in a class and so you can receive the teacher communications.

I hope all of you had a wonderful summer.  Be safe and stay healthy.

Your VERY PROUD Principal,

Thomas Trippany
