  • Advance Orchestra/Viola Choir

  • Alphabet Soup (GSA)

    • Name of the club: Alphabet Soup (GSA)
    • What is Alphabet Soup (GSA): This group is student-led. The Gay-Straight Alliance seeks to create greater awareness about the issues and unique experiences faced by the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) community.  Will hold regular discussions on a variety of topics, invite guest speakers to come, and create informative displays for the school.

  • Basketball

    • What is Basketball: An indoor competive team sport of 5 players objective of shooting the basketball in a hoop and prevent the opposing team from shooting and scoring as well.
    • When: Scheduled conditioning practices begin in September and to be determined by the basketball coach; tryouts are in October.

    A limited number of seventh (7th) grade students will be allowed to participate in middle school athletics. No more than one-third of a basketball or cheer roster may be made up of seventh-grade students.

  • Bridge Builders

    • Name of the club: Bridge Builders
    • What is Bridge Builders: The purpose of this organization is to provide students with academic and behavioral support.  The goal is to provide students with tools to help them do well academically while making good choices behaviorally to keep them in class and out of trouble.  We will also bring in guest speakers in the community to speak with the students and hold them accountable.

  • Broadcast Club/News Crew

    • Name of the club: Broadcast Club/News Crew
    • What is Broadcast Club: The purpose of the BCMS Broadcasting Club is to provide current news of all the happenings within our school to our student body. The club also offers students an opportunity to get hands-on experience in broadcasting and producing TV live news shows

  • Environmental Club

  • Improv Club

    • Name of the club: Improv Club
    • What is Improv Club: The purpose of Improv Club is to develop a love for the arts by providing an outlet for the student to express themselves. Students will learn a variety of skills that will help them be successful learners and individuals. Our goal is to improve student social skills, listening skills, learn teamwork and how to accept differences in opinions, as well as how to bounce back from failure.

  • Jekyll Island Field Trip

    • What is Jekyll Island Field Trip: A science exploration of marshes, miles of beaches in the middle of winter at Jekyll Island.

  • Jr. Beta Club

    • Name of the club: Jr. Beta Club
    • What is the National Junior Beta Club: The purpose of Jr. Beta club is to lead by serving others. Jr. Beta members commit to 10 service hours a semester and strive to serve BCMS and the surrounding community. We conduct one service project a semester.
    • When: Meetings occur on the Second Friday of each month. Students are invited to attend the Jr. Beta club based on their grades and discipline in January of their 6th or 7th-grade year. The 2021-2022 members have been inducted.

    • What is Lunch Bunch: The activity is for Counselors and Peer Leaders to meet collaboratively with new students during lunch.

  • Minecraft Club

    • Name of the club: Minecraft Club
    • What is Minecraft: A game-based learning platform that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive digital environment.  Our goal with this club is to inspire students to explore computing and coding. We expose students to  Minecraft and the operating systems that run it. Through interaction in Minecraft, students learn how to respect each other in person and online through collaboration in shared worlds.
    • When: Meets once a month from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
    • Where: Grayson High Lab (8th-grade floor). Personal devices are welcomed, however, we will use desktop computers, as we have noticed the application does not always launch on personal devices.

  • Multicultural Club

    • Name of the club: Multicultural Club
    • What is Multicultural Club: A The purpose is to promote awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of diverse cultures.
    • When: Third Thursday of the month
    • Where: 8:15 am to 9:00 am in Mrs. Barnes' classroom

  • Peer Leaders

    • Name of the Club: Peer Leaders
    • What is Peer Leader: Mentors who work collaboratively with new students and staff.

    • Peer Leaders are positive role models for peers that help create a safe, respectful, and welcoming school environment. As a Peer Leader, you would help to support all students. Peer Leaders will have multiple responsibilities at Bay Creek Middle School, including:

      • “Meet and Greets”-help with tours, school events, and be the welcoming face of Bay Creek.
      • Promote messages of respect and reinforcing school expectations.

  • Quiz Bowl Team

    • Name of the Club: Quiz Bowl Team
    • What is Quiz Bowl Team: We will practice preparing for local competitions against other Gwinnett middle schools.  If you like showing off your knowledge of all kinds of interesting facts or just want to learn some new interesting things, come out and join us!

  • Readers Rally

    • Name of the Club: Readers Rally
    • What is the Readers Rally Club: The BCMS Readers Rally Club's mission is to foster a love of reading, connect readers, and engage in book discussions to prepare for the Gwinnett County Readers Rally competition that takes place every spring at Peachtree Ridge High School. Ten BCMS Readers Rally club members, who will become experts in the books covered during our meetings will be selected to represent our school in this quiz-bowl style event and compete against other Gwinnett Readers Rally middle school teams.

  • Relay for Life

    • Name of the Club: Relay for Life
    • What is Relay for Life: This group helps to raise funds and awareness for a cancer cure. It culminates in the participation of GCPS Relay for Life at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds.

  • Robotics Club

    • Name of the Club: Robotics
    • What: BCMS has two teams that compete in First Lego League competitions.  Each team can have up to 10 members.  Teams collaborate to build and program an EV3 robot to complete specific tasks.  Students are also charged with creating an innovation project related to the provided theme. Students participating in robotics should be self-motivated and eager to work as a team.  Our Core Values in robotics are Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Fun!
    • When: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 4:15-5:30 during the season (Sept-Dec, Jan-Feb if teams advance through competitions)  Competitions are in person and on Saturdays (dates are determined by First Lego League.

  • Running Club/Kilometer Kids

    • Name of the Club:  Running Club/Kilometer Kids
    • What is Running Club: The purpose of this club is for kids to simply just be ACTIVE, and hopefully find a love for running, and exercising. Running is a mental sport that if treated properly can relieve stress and improve your overall health. Kids will learn the basics of a good warm-up and cool down, and the correct form and techniques of running either short or long distances. We will incorporate abdominal workouts and yoga days, as well as enforce the importance of REST days and listening to your body!
    • When: Tuesday and Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

  • Tabletop Gaming

    • Name of the Club: Tabletop Gaming
    • What is Tabletop Club: Tabletop Gaming is a group for students who enjoy any strategy, fantasy, cooperative, adventure, role-playing, or deck-building games.  Magic the Gathering is the backbone of our club, but we enjoy tabletop games of all types.  We are open to anyone who shares our love for tabletop gaming. Students without experience or cards are invited to come out for any meeting. Join other students to play Magic the Gathering or come and learn how to play.

    • What is Tech Buddies club: We are looking for 2 or 3 digital tech-savvy students to collaborate with the Tech Team on a variety of creative tasks for promoting digital citizenship at our school.
