    Description

    Come join the drone club where students will learn how to fly and program drones! This club will introduce, instruct, and develop students into responsible and educated drone pilots. We will explore the various aspects of drone piloting including equipment, safety, and programming.

    Process of Acceptance

    All students in 4th and 5th grade are welcome to submit an application to participate in the club. Members are expected to have excellent behavior and attendance and adhere to all safety guidelines.

  • Environmental Club

    Description

    Environmental club challenges kids to think like scientists and environmentalists. During the school year we will challenge students to create new and innovative ways to help clean-up our school, community, and the world by thinking like AI learners. Students will be able to use creative problem-solving skills to design and communicate a creative program that aims to protect the plant.

    Description

    Come join us for 1st Grade Robotics Club! The Robotics Club is an exciting opportunity for students to build a strong STEM foundation with experiences that emphasize coding, critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, problem-solving, creativity, and curiosity.

    Process of Acceptance

    This club is open to all 1st grade students; however, space is limited. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Registration will remain open until the first 20 students have registered. Once 20 students have registered, registration will be closed and no additional students will be accepted. Please make sure you will be able to pick up your child promptly at 4:15 pm before registering.

  • First Lego League Challenge Team

    First Lego League

    Description

    Students from 4th and 5th grade can join in on the Lego Robotics Fun with our Challenge Team. The team will solve a real world problem based on a theme presented by Lego. They will also build and code a Lego robot to complete missions. This fun and exciting team teaches everyone about teamwork, innovation, and engineering!

    Students will explore a theme set by Lego. They will build moving models using Legos. They will also get the chance to attend a Lego Festival in March.

    Description

    Students will get a chance to explore a theme set by Lego. They will build a solution to a problem that they see with the theme in mind. Each solution will include a robotic component that students will build out of Legos and code using block coding.

    Description

    The Kids for Kids Club engages children in activities that teach the importance of community service and encourages lifelong volunteerism and philanthropy. There are several opportunities to engage our children in making a difference in the lives of young patients. Some of our fundraising projects include: Cape Day, Booing, and a Toy Drive.

    Description

    The purpose of Mindful Leaders is to cultivate the right mindset for prospective leaders by offering a series of enlightening lectures and student-led activities that foster contemplation, problem-solving with a positive mindset, and self-reflection. The fundamental themes of Mindful Leaders Club includes the world of the heart, self-control, deep thinking, connection and exchange, and change. These themes will be imparted to students through lessons covering various topics, interactive reflections, and engaging activities.

  • Reading Spots

    Reading Spots

    Description

    Reading Spots is a group of scholars who have a passion for reading and an ultimate goal of representing Patrick Elementary at the county Readers Rally book competition. The county selects 10 chapter books for our Reading Spots scholars to read independently, discuss in small groups, and practice answering specific questions about each book.

    Acceptance Process

    All students in the 4th and 5th grade are welcome to participate. Members are expected to have excellent behavior and attendance. Additionally, participants are expected to read 2 chapter books per month (200-400 pages per book) and be motivated to study and answer 30-40 factual questions about each book.
