Older devices may not be able to load the programs needed for students to use eCLASS and Google Classroom.
This year, many of our teachers will be using Google Classroom.

Connecting Mobile Devices to Google
In order for mobile devices to work properly in G Suite for Education & Google Classroom, various free Google apps should be downloaded.
These apps include:
- Google Drive
- Google Docs
- Google Slides
- Google Sheets
- Google Classroom
- Chrome (optional depending on the device being used)
Once you have downloaded these apps, use the directions below to guide you through connecting to your child's GCPS Google account.

Setting Up School Chromebooks at Home
If your student checked out a Chromebook from our school, please follow these directions.
1) Connect to home WiFi
IMPORTANT - You must connect to your home WiFi network FIRST before logging in. (Note - If the Portal is down, students will not be able to log into the school Chromebook until the site is up & running again.)

2) For Zoom to work correctly on Chromebooks, please follow these directions.
School Chromebooks - Asking for Email Address
If the Chromebook is asking for a student email address, then one of the following three things is happening:
The Chromebook has not been connected to your home WiFi. This step must be done first.
The person attempting to log into the Chromebook is clicking the "Sign in with a different account" link that is on the first opening page of the Chromebook. If this happens, it will prompt for an email address. Instead, please click the blue button in the bottom right corner and from there it will go to the Student Portal login screen. Students will log into the Portal with their username and password.
If the GCPS Portal system is slow or down, it will redirect you to a Google login screen rather than the GCPS Student Portal login screen. In this case, there is nothing we can do but wait for the GCPS site to come back online.
Troubleshooting Personal Chromebooks
If you are having trouble with a personal Chromebook, most likely you have conflicting Google accounts.
