Collins Hill Community School Digital Personal Fitness and Health Summer School Option
Rising 9th grade students may take Health and Personal Fitness prior to their freshman year to allow room in their schedule for a 4-year sequence of Weight Training, Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Fine Arts, ROTC, Business, or Foreign Language. Personal Fitness and Health are required courses for Graduation.
Registration Form and Full payment must be provided to CHHS by March 1, 2021 for guaranteed Elective placement.Collins Hill Community School will be offering two digital summer school courses, Health and Personal Fitness. Students will be required to access these courses digitally from home and will be interacting with their instructor daily. Each course costs $250.00 and must be paid in full by March 1, 2021 (for guaranteed elective placement) or by May 3, 2021 (final deadline). Summer school dates will be held on June 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, 2021.Summer School Student expectations
Each student must have daily access to a computer and internet during class times.
If taking Personal Fitness, the student will need to sign on to class from 7am to 11am each summer school day and will be required to participate in daily physical activities.
If taking Health, the student will need to sign on to class from 11:30am to 3:30pm each summer school day.
Students are allowed only two absences during summer school and all Gwinnett County rules and disciplinary procedures will apply.For successful teacher/parent/student communication, we will need a current/correct e-mail address and daytime phone number on file for both student and parent.
Personal Fitness and Health are offered through the Community School of most Gwinnett County High Schools. The price will be $250 (in county residents) per course (this is subject to change if GCSP Board votes a course increase for 2021). Registration for summer PE and Health will begin on February 1, 2021.
FULL PAYMENT must be made at time of registration.
To guarantee desired Electives, Registration/FULL PAYMENT must be made by March 1, 2021.

Classes are offered to students who are taking these subjects for the first time only. Students are allowed only two absences during Summer School and all Gwinnett County High School rules and disciplinary procedures apply. Students may take no more than two classes in Summer School. No refund will be given after the first day of class. Students will receive .5 credit for each course successfully completed and paid in full.
To register, please print and complete this registration form and make full payment to the Community School by March 1, 2021 (for guaranteed Electives) or by May 3, 2021 (final deadline). The community school accepts cash, checks, and VISA or MasterCard. Cash and credit card must be processed in person at the community school office. *All credit card transactions will incur an additional $5 fee.

Q: I’m an athlete. Can I take Health and Weight Training OR Personal Fitness and Weight
Training during my 9th grade year if I take ONLY PE OR ONLY HEALTH in the summer?
A: No. Weight Training /Body Sculpting are yearlong classes. Health and Personal Fitness
are prerequisites for all upper level PE courses.
Q: My student wants to take only Personal Fitness OR only Health in summer school.
A: Your student will then during his/her 9th grade year have the course they did not take
along with an available freshman elective. Or they can take the missed PE/Health
course another time, prior to graduation.
Q: I noticed that students are allowed only 2 absences in summer school. When does this

A: Yes, $250 for Health; $250 for Personal Fitness (Out of County-$275 for each class).
