  • Art Club

    Mission/Purpose: The Art Club provides students the opportunity to work in a cooperative atmosphere with others who share an interest in creative activity.

    Planned Activities: Meets the First and Third Tuesday of the month. Art club will be doing various activities throughout the year. Every year we create ornaments for the faculty and staff of DMS as a Thank you for everything they do, we will have an Art Club logo contest the winning logo will be featured on the Art Club page in the Yearbook as well printed on the Art Club T-Shirts. We will explore various art mediums and have fun with the art process.

  • Book Club

    Mission/Purpose: To offer students a safe and fun after-school activity that promotes literacy and a love of reading. The book club is a great place for students to make new friends and improve reading skills.

    Planned Activities: Meets every other Tuesday from 4:30-5:30. The book club will read several books throughout the year. Some books that we will read have been made into movies, and students will have the opportunity to compare and contrast the book to its filmed version.

    The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd.

  • Crochet Club

    Mission/Purpose: The Crochet Club teaches students the basic crochet skills which are necessary to make hats, blankets, and scarves. Students are encouraged to be creative and they have the opportunity to meet other friends with similar interests. We also crochet different items and donate them at the end of the semester. 

    Planned Activities: Meets from 8:00-9:00AM every Wednesday during the months of October and December. We are crocheting newborn hats and donating them to different hospitals.

  • Drama Club

    Mission/Purpose: The Drama Club is a performance-based club. Students utilize teamwork, acting skills, and public speaking to prepare for after school performances.

  • Falconeers Club

    Mission/Purpose: The purpose of the Falconeers Club is to allow students to apply Engineering practices and local thinking to everyday life and problem solving. This club is open to face to face and digital learners. Membership is limited to 15 students.

    Planned Activities: We will explore logic-based games (e.g. chess and online board games), Vex Robotics Programming, CAD design, and creative problem solving while building teams and practicing collaboration skills.  We will meet from 8:15 AM-8:55 AM on Thursday mornings in the Engineering Lab.

  • Film and Media Club

    Mission/Purpose: Students will explore digital expression through narratice and documentary film creation. Initially students will observe techniques used by other creators before developing their own works. Screenwriting, animation, digital editing and the production cycle are topics to explore. Face to face limit is 12 students, virtual limit is 14 students.

    Planned Activities: We meet twice monthly on Tuesday afternoons.

  • Heart & Sole

    Mission/PurposeThis club is sponsored by Girls on the Run of Atlanta. Heart & Sole teaches girls more about themselves, becomng independent thinkers, and finding inner strength trhough physical activity. Heart & Sole focuses on the body, brain, spirit and how the girls connect with others. Girls wok on setting up goals through exercises and discussions. Each season ends with a non-competitive 5K, where they celebrate who they are, how far they have come, and where they want to go. 

    Planned Activities: The club will meet during the Spring semester (February-April) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 am.-9:00 am.

  • Junior Beta Club

    Mission/Purpose: The purpose of the DMS Beta Club is to promote the ideals of character, service, and leadership among students.

    Planned Activities: The club meets once a month and we toggle days to accommodate as many students' schedules as well as other school functions as possible.

  • Junior Pearls Club

    Mission/Purpose: This is a great opportunity for your daughter to develop self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-trust. The Jr. Pearls Club wishes to develop a safe place for your daughter to express herself out of the classroom, and it is a great way to meet and mingle with other girls from Dacula Middle School.

  • Language Explorers Club

    Mission/Purpose: This club is for students interested in exploring the Francophone and Hispanic worlds. We will investigate language and culture, focusing on a different country or festival each month. Enrollment in French or Spanish at any level is not required. 

    Planned Activities: We will meet monthly. More details to come as the year shapes up.

  • Odyssey of the Mind

    Mission/Purpose: Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students.  Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics.

  • Readers Rally

    Mission/Purpose: To promote reading with students who desire to share their love of reading with others.
    Planned Activities: Meets every other Tuesday in the Media Center.  This is open to 6th – 8th-grade students and they are required to read 15 books.  Activities will vary depending upon what the students would like to participate in. Planned activities will include the creation of a favorite book choice poster, PowerPoint slide about the book or video about the book, and the chance to participate in Gwinnett County Readers Rally Quiz Bowl.

    Other activities may include lots of discussions about the books and the creation of a book journal record as well as the use of a graphic organizer to record information from the titles read.

  • Real Y.O.G.A

    Mission/Purpose: In light of the uncertainty and anxiety students have experienced during the COVID-19 and social justice pandemics, Real Y.O.G.A. (Real Youth Overcome, Grow & Achieve) will serve as a space for participants to relate, release, and heal. Grounded in self reflection and group discussion- weekly yoga classes will focus on helpping students identify and manage their emotional, social, and physical deficiencies.

    Planned Activities: We will meet every Wednesday from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM in the upper gym. Club dues will go toward snacks and benefit the REAL Mentorship Program.

  • Relay for Life

    Mission/Purpose: Raises awareness of the horrible disease as well as funds in order to help support the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer.

    Planned Activities: Fundraisers throughout the year, Pink Out Football Game at the high school (Oct.), awareness posters/presentations, write holiday cards to guests staying at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge, Relay For Life of Gwinnett event in May.

  • Stock Market Club

    Mission/Purpose: The purpose of the stock market club is for students to explore the stock market exchanges investing and money management in a live interactive simulation. The club is open to face and face and digital learners. Membership is limited to 15 students. 

    Planned Activities: We will meet Friday mornings from 8:15 AM - 8:55 AM in the Engineering Lab. Students will compete to have the largest portfolio by trading stocks, bonds, ETF's, and mutual funds.

  • Travel Club

    Mission/Purpose: Post pandemic student and staff travel organization.

    Planned activities: DMS will offer students and staff the opportunity to learn adn explore various local, state, and national sites of interest in realtion to various AKS in an effort to build upon a sense of community.

    Mission/Purpose: Write On! is a writing club for those who enjoy writing narratives, poetry, songs, informational writing, essays, and any other type of writing.
