Minor Elementary Virtual Kindergarten Registration
Do you have a rising Kindergarten student or know someone with a rising Kindergarten student who was born on or before September 1, 2015?
Well join Tania Crandell on one of these dates for information on how to register for our 2020-2021 school year.

Time: English session 5-6 pm, Spanish session 6-7 pm
Where: Zoom (Meeting link will be provided the day before each meeting)

Chromebooks Due May 19th - 21st
This is a reminder that if your child has a Chromebook checked out from Minor Elementary. The Chromebook(s) are due back to Minor Tuesday May 19th – Thursday May 21st. Chromebooks will be collected when you come to Minor at your schedule time to collect your child's school personal belongings, drop off text books or library books. Please see the schedule below.
Directions for parents:
- Drive up to the bus lane during their assigned time.
- Do not leave your vehicle during pick-up. (No students or family members will be permitted to exit their vehicle or congregate with others).
- Write your Last Name, First name and Teacher name on a piece of paper in bold marker and place the sign where it is visible through your vehicle’s windshield.
- School personnel will come to the window of the car to read the name of student.
- When directed, remotely pop the trunk or hatch. Personnel will place the student’s items in the vehicle and pick up any items that need to be returned to the school.

9-11 A.M. If you could not make your previously assigned date and time, you can come at this time.
If you were not able to make it on any of these designated times, we ask that call Minor ES at (770) 925-9543 to set up an appointment for return/collection.
Any Chromebooks not returned will be charged to your child’s school account.
Returning Library Books to Minor
Now through May 15th, there will be a bin located in front of the school from 11 AM to 1 PM each day during lunch pick up for you to return students' library books. If you are not able to bring the books during these two weeks, there will be an opportunity the week of May 18th when you come to pick up your student's belongings. More information about that process will come home soon.
If you would like to check your student's account to see if he/she has books checked out, click here for a video with directions on how to do that.
Keep in mind that books that students left in the classroom have not been checked in yet and that Kindergarten students do not bring library books home, so these books will stay on the student's record until we have an opportunity to collect them from classrooms in the next two weeks.
If your child brought home a "book bag" with paperback books from Minor's bookroom (they will have a barcode sticker on the back with Minor's name on it), we will gladly take those books back as well. These are books that your child's teacher checked out in the teacher's name and sent home with students to be read at home.

Gwinnett Library Provides Tutor.com
Beginning April 6, 2020, the Gwinnett County Public Library is partnering with the school district to provide online tutoring support to Gwinnett students through Tutor.com. Students will need a library account to access the service. They will be able to sign on for individual tutoring sessions daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in English and from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Spanish. There is also 24/7 "drop-off" support for writing assignments where students can upload an essay and receive feedback within 24 hours.

Digital Learning Day
If bad weather causes school to be cancelled or dismissed early, public announcements will be made on GCPS TV, on the school system’s website, on GCPS Twitter and Facebook, through SchoolMessenger email, and via metro-Atlanta radio and television stations. Full-day cancellations usually are announced by 6 a.m.
In the event that Gwinnett County Public Schools decides to utilize a Digital Learning Day, students will log onto eCLASS to complete assignments.
