  • GCPS' Portrait of a Graduate is a collective vision that articulates our community's aspirations for #EachandEvery student... and positions them for successful, satisfying lives.

The Portrait of a Graduate is the first step in framing a new vision for our school district and helped shape our district’s new strategic plan, Our Blueprint for the Future. Over the next few weeks, we'll explore the six core competencies that articulate our community’s aspirations for all GCPS students.

  • Complete a meal application by Wednesday, September 14, to continue meal benefits and ensure added support for your school!

Throughout the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has allowed school systems across the country to provide breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge to families. However, the USDA waivers expired during the summer, and students are required to pay for meals based on their individual eligibility.

In order to receive free or reduced-price meal benefits, families must complete the Free and Reduced-price Meal Application and meet eligibility requirements. Click here to learn more and find a link to the application: https://www.gcpsk12.org/Page/29759.

  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program

Here at Benefield Elementary, PBIS is a proactive approach to our schools use to improve school safety and promote positive behavior. The focus of PBIS is prevention, not punishment. At its heart, PBIS calls on schools to teach students positive behavior strategies, just as they would teach about any other subject like reading or math. More information on our school-wide initiative will be sent at a later time.
