Art Club

Description
Come join the Art club where all artists bloom together! Art allows children the opportunity to use their imagination and critical thinking skills to solve visual challenges. Creative thinkers of today will be our leaders tomorrow! Students will build on skills and techniques that they learn in art class.
Process of Acceptance
Students will submit a piece of art and a letter of recommendation from their homeroom teacher. An art club application will go home to every fourth and fifth grade student.

Chorus

Description
Chorus meets 1 to 2 times a week in the mornings from 7:00-7:45 am. Members are expected to have excellent behavior and attendance. This club performs several times throughout the school year.

Students can sign up with Mrs. Lueke. An audition may be held.

Drone Club

Description
Come join the drone club where students will learn how to fly and program drones! This club will introduce, instruct, and develop students into responsible and educated drone pilots. We will explore the various aspects of drone piloting including equipment, safety, and programming.
Process of Acceptance
All students in 4th and 5th grade are welcome to submit an application to participate in the club. Members are expected to have excellent behavior and attendance and adhere to all safety guidelines.

Environmental Club

Environmental club challenges kids to think like scientists and environmentalists. During the 2022-2023 school year we will challenge students to create new and innovative ways to help clean-up our school, community, and the world by thinking like AI learners. Students will be able to use creative problem-solving skills to design and communicate a creative program that aims to protect the plant.

Graphic Design

Description
Graphic design is all around us, both on screen and in print. This fun and engaging graphic design club will expose students to the fundamental skills required to make sophisticated graphic design: process, context, and communication through image-making and typography. The sequence is completed by a capstone project that applies the skills of each activity and peer feedback in a finished branding project. The goal of the graphic design club is to equip learners with a set of transferable formal and conceptual tools for “making and communicating” through graphic design.
Process of Acceptance
Students must have curiosity about how to create graphic designs. Any 4th or 5th grade student will be able to sign up.

Description
The “Patrick Players” is a Patrick Elementary School club for students who are currently taking formal music lessons from a music teacher, such as piano, guitar, violin, voice, etc. We meet several times a year to give students the opportunity to perform a piece of music they have learned during their lessons in front of supportive peers.
Process of Acceptance
There are no auditions involved. Students must be involved in private lessons.

Reading Spots

Description
The goal of the Reading Spots club is to celebrate great literature with those who love reading. The 10 book titles we will read have been pre-selected by the county. We will discuss the books and write questions that will help us prepare and participate in the Gwinnett County Reader's Rally. Due to the reading level of the books , this club is best suited for students who love to read in their free time and read on or above grade level.
Acceptance Process
If you are a 4th or 5th grader who is passionate about reading, this club is for you. An application will be required along with a teacher's recommendation. Participation will be limited to 25 students. In December, there will be try-outs to represent Patrick at the GCPS Reader's Rally. Up to 10 students can be chosen to compete.

The Robotics Club is an exciting opportunity for students to build a strong STEM foundation with experiences that emphasize coding, critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, problem-solving, creativity, and curiosity.

Student Council

Description
Patrick’s Student Council is a group of elected and/or volunteer students working together with an adult advisor within the framework of a constitution or bylaws to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities, give opportunities for student experience in leadership, and promote effective understanding of the rights and responsibilities that are a part of being civically engaged.
Goals:
● Promote school cluster engagement by increasing student involvement and school pride.
● To expose, develop, and apply the three foundational principles of citizenship in the United States; Rights, Responsibilities, and Respect.
● Promote leadership by developing not only leadership abilities with the youth of today, but also leadership for the community, state, and nation of tomorrow.
● Promote citizenship and civic engagement by providing training and experiences in the skills and techniques of good citizenship and leadership to prepare articulate citizens and leaders.
