GCPS Names National Merit Semifinalists
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has started its nationwide search for the students who will be named 2021 National Merit Scholars. As part of this first step, 56 Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) seniors have been named 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalists, including 17 students from GSMST! Congratulations to all our semifinalists.

Congratulations to Young Lin for being named our 2020 STAR Student! He chose Patricia Caldwell as his STAR Teacher!

The American Association of Teachers of German has designated The Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology as a German Center of Excellence in the United States. Our program has been recognized for its accomplishments and the school has been awarded the title of German Center of Excellence. Since 1995, only one other school in Georgia has received this honor and we are the first school in Gwinnett County to be recognized with this accomplishment.
Our German Program has been recognized by AATG for its excellence in:

assessment techniques

Orchestra Accolades
Congratulations to the following orchestra students on being accepted to the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra and Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, two of the most elite Atlanta area honor orchestras.
For E.Y.S.O.: Olivia C., Neha G., Nevin G., Roland M., Jonathan K., Gabriel L., and Gabby N-J.
And for A.S.Y.O.: Suann K., Brandon L., and Angela L. who was named as an alternate.
Congratulations are also in order for Sasha K, Paula P, and Abbygale S on being selected to the Gwinnett County Youth Symphony Honor Orchestra. They were selected from hundreds of other Gwinnett County students after auditioning this past Saturday. Way to go ladies!

The National Council of Teachers of English has released their ranking of literary magazines across the country for the 2017-2018 school year, and GSMST's Infinitas earned "REALM First Class," which equates to best in state.
