Start Proud!® Backpack Event and All-Star Teacher Surprise on August 4

WHAT:

On Friday, August 4, The ODP Corporation—including Office Depot, ODP Business Solutions, and VEYER—will team up with Gwinnett County Public Schools to support students, parents, and teachers at Norcross Elementary School, a Title I elementary school in Norcross, through the company’s Start Proud!® program

During a back-to-school celebration, The ODP Corporation will celebrate students and teachers! The ODP Corporation will have distributed 850 backpacks to Norcross Elementary School students filled with school supplies during back-to-school night—including composition books, Crayola® crayons, pencils, highlighters, and more—to help students feel confident and prepared for the new school year. Overall, each backpack bundle will provide nearly $120 of economic relief to each recipient family.

At the assembly, with support from Boise Paper, the school will also celebrate the $20,000 in-store credit at Office Depot® OfficeMax® that benefitted teachers by helping them with critical classroom essentials in late July.

One special teacher will also be hand-selected by their principal and surprised with an All-Star Teacher Award in recognition of their dedication to education and extraordinary contributions to the school. The teacher will receive products valued at nearly $2,000, including:

An additional 150 backpacks will be delivered to the Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation to help students prepare for the new school year. Nationwide, The ODP Corporation will donate and distribute approximately 18,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to students attending more than 25 Title I schools through its Start Proud!® program.
