GCPS FFCRA Replacement Leave Extended through December 21, 2022
The GCPS FFCRA Replacement Leave went into effect July 1, 2021, and expired on March 31, 2022. GCPS provided a one-time 10-day leave option for benefit-eligible employees for COVID-related reasons. Work from home and PD&E options were not available.
EXTENDED: GCPS FFCRA Replacement Leave – Effective July 1, 2022, through December 21, 2022.
With the evolving COVID pandemic, the school district’s Division of Human Resources and Talent Management (HRTM) continually reviews procedures, current conditions, and updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local health officials to adjust processes and procedures as necessary.
GCPS will now provide a one-time 7-day leave option to employees due to COVID-related reasons through December 21, 2022, as outlined below. After this type of leave is exhausted, employees must use their accrued leave, and if no leave is available, a dockage will occur. Work from home and PD&E options are not available.
Subject to a Federal, State, or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID as a result of a positive diagnosis. This does not include quarantine related to travel.
Caring for a minor child who has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine related to COVID as a result of a positive diagnosis.
The district will not approve GCPS FFCRA for the following reasons:
Childcare due to the closure of a facility.
Quarantine due to travel.
Vaccination appointments or reactions.
The affected employee should immediately begin to quarantine as directed by the Health Response Team (HRT) representative. The employee must return to their work location at the end of the quarantine period. An extension beyond the quarantine period will not be permitted.
