The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting mandate to end all face-to-face instruction in Gwinnett County Public Schools has had a profound impact on the daily lives of our students, families, and employees. Plans are to continue digital learning through May 20, the scheduled last day of the school year. In these uncertain times, we know that many of you have questions about plans for the remainder of the school year. We continue to work through some of the issues, but decisions have been made regarding a number of school-related topics. The attached Digital Learning Update provides information on a number of topics, including assessments, help for students who are struggling, grading, promotion, and graduation.
In addition, the school district is announcing that beginning the week of April 13 it will implement a flexible schedule on Fridays. Students will not receive any new assignments on Fridays which will provide additional opportunities for students to work with their teachers, review material they have covered, complete assignments, and take part in other activities.
Again, we encourage you to review the update, and we look forward to sharing additional information with you as decisions are made and plans are finalized.
