Welcome to Trickum 2020-21

July 30, 2020

Dear Trickum Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! We look forward to welcoming your child to Trickum Middle School, where the staff is committed to ensuring high levels of learning for all students. This email contains a lot of information regarding the start of school. Please refer to it often, so that you and your child will be prepared for this unique start.

TMS Parent’s Guide to Digital Learning: We have created the Parent's Guide to Digital and In-Person Learning as a way to help answer questions regarding the structure of school and the school day as we begin with digital learning on August 12th. Please bookmark/print this document. We hope this comprehensive document helps answer your many questions.

Open House: We are excited to kick off the school year by meeting you and your child at a Virtual Open House on Monday, August 10th. Teacher teams will host these sessions at 9am, 12pm, and 3pm, as well as post a recording on their eCLASS page for anyone unable to attend during these times. All 3 sessions will be identical. Zoom links will be sent via email on Friday, August 7th. Please be on the lookout for these emails.

Orientation Agreement Forms and school contributions must be completed via All returning students (this includes students who attended Trickum this past year as well as upcoming students from one of our four feeder elementary schools) may simply go to and login to complete the process. Those without an account will need to create one by going to; click on “Register” for a FREE account.

Are you on the Parent Portal? If not, please contact Drew Schoen at to complete the sign-up process. The Parent Portal allows parents to monitor student progress throughout the year. No more waiting for report cards to get an update on grades; you may simply check the Parent Portal at your convenience. Other features allow you to view attendance, lunch account balances, checked out and overdue books, and emergency contact information.

The Student Data Validation/Change Process is online via the ParentVue Update Student Information tab within the Parent Portal. To ensure receipt of all school information updates, it is important that all information is reviewed and updated before the first day of school. Please use this feature to ensure all the necessary contact information (i.e., emergency contacts, pick up list information, cell phone numbers, doctor’s numbers, and any necessary medical information the school needs to know) is up-to-date and accurate. The information provided here is our primary emergency contact information, and it is crucial that we get accurate parent/guardian telephone numbers and addresses.

Supply lists are available on our website on the Registration page. 7th & 8th grade lists are complete lists; however, the 6th grade list is generic. 6th grade teachers may provide additional lists at Open House. Please feel free to adjust anything on the list since we will start school with digital learning only.

Are you a PTSA supporter? We encourage you to support Trickum by becoming a PTSA member. This year PTSA is offering three levels of membership. Basic Level ($10) includes a single membership. Tiger Level ($30) includes two memberships and two car magnets. Top Tiger Level ($50) includes two memberships, two car magnets and a Trickum spirit wear t-shirt.
