BMS Little Library

Janice Brown, a Berkmar Middle School 7th grade language arts teacher, always has had a love for reading and she works diligently to ignite that same passion for her students. After hosting a classroom library of her own for years, she sought another way to expose children to books. Out of this desire, Berkmar Middle School’s little free library was born, making the school a part of the “world’s largest book-sharing movement” which seeks to “build community, spark creativity, and inspire readers.” Readers are able to take a free book from the library with the hope that they will return to add a book to the collection. Thanks to Ms. Brown and Berkmar Middle, Lilburn’s residents now have another opportunity to keep reading.
