Sneaker Drive

Dear FFMS Families,
It’s hard to believe an estimated 600 million pair of shoes go into America’s landfills every year. Also, across the globe, more than 600 million people don’t own even one pair of shoes. That’s why Five Forks Middle School PTSA has decided to start a sneaker drive fundraiser with GotSneakers. The sneakers we collect through the GotSneakers program will help us raise funds, keep sneakers out of landfills AND help other across the globe. GotSneakers will be distributed to Nations such as Central America, the Caribbean, South America, Europe and West Africa where shoes are desperately needed.  Although it seems like a small act to give up an old pair of shoes, it can have a major impact on the lives of less-fortunate individuals. Talk about a win-win! Let’s make a difference together!

How many pairs of sneakers can you collect? Help us by simply cleaning out your closet and sending us your old athletic sneakers! Ask your family, even neighbors, every pair counts!

The condition of the sneakers should be gently worn and used but should not contain any holes, rips, tears, or sole separation of any kind to be considered. Please do NOT send any non-athletic footwear including but not limited to boots, heels, sandals, and dress shoes of any kind.

Starting Monday, November 8th, there will be gray trash cans at the entrance of Five Forks Middle School to collect the shoes. Please tie your tennis shoes together via their laces and drop them in the bin. Once the bin is full, the shoes will be separated, bagged, and shipped to get GotSneakers. It’s that Simple.
Your FFMS PTSA thanks you for doing your part by helping others out.
