March 2023: Rising 6th Grade Five Forks Middle School STEAM Team Student Application

Dear Parent or Guardian,

The Brookwood Cluster Schools have embarked on an exciting STEAM education initiative which promotes integrated instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Although the implementation of the STEAM initiative may vary depending on the specific school, our cluster’s common vision promotes a cohesive goal. The Brookwood Cluster STEAM Program is dedicated to creating a learning environment that is authentic, rigorous, problem-based, and cross-curricular. The STEAM Program provides K-12 opportunities for application, exploration, and innovation in order to prepare well-rounded students for an ever-changing technological world.

What does STEAM look like in action at Five Forks Middle School? Throughout the school day, STEAM students will engage in problem-based instruction, special projects, and multi-disciplinary studies focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This STEAM program is designed for all students who are curious and want to explore new ideas. The STEAM program is rigorous and is intended to span all three years of middle school.

If you would like your child to be considered as a STEAM student in 6th grade, please complete the application below by Friday, March 17, 2023 by 5:00 PM.
