Summer Learning Programs
Ride the wave of learning with the Summer Enrichment + Acceleration (SEA) program!
This summer’s K-8 learning experience—set for June 14 to July 2—has been redesigned with the goal of helping all students, while specifically addressing learning losses that have occurred over the past year-and-a-half during the pandemic. The focus on enrichment and acceleration is intended to help students get a head start on next year’s learning.
SEA activities will focus on accelerating and expanding on student learning for the current grade and previewing what students will learn at the next grade level. In addition to the acceleration, students also will participate in enrichment opportunities outside the core subject areas, taking part in engaging activities and learning typically offered in Specials and Connections courses.
K-8 SEA Opportunities:
- In-Person SEA Program—Designed for students who teachers and schools feel would most benefit from in-person instruction. These free, in-person classes are available by invitation. (June 14-July 2)
- Rising K Academy—Open to all children registered to start kindergarten in the fall at a GCPS school. This program is available at no charge to families. (June 14-July 2)
- Digital SEA Program—Open to all GCPS students. This self-paced digital format is accessed through the Student Portal on the Summer Enrichment and Acceleration eCLASS page. (June 14-July 16)
- Families can learn more about Classworks and how students will use this platform during Digital SEA in this video.
