Summer Reading

SUMMER READING PROGRAM INFORMATION

Camp KindnessMay 2023

There are several fun Summer Reading Programs available to you and your children this summer.  At Ivy Creek, we encourage your kids to use this time to enjoy reading.  Students may read books, magazines, newspapers, comics or listen to audio books.  Families are encouraged to read aloud together!

All students who participate in one of the summer reading activities this year will earn a gift from our first Book Fair.  As an added bonus, one lucky reader will win an Amazon Kindle!  Complete any of the following activities by August 18th to earn a ticket for the prize drawing.  Each student could earn up to 3 tickets!

  1. Email Ms. Sharp (Kimberly.Sharp@gcpsk12.org) a photo of your family or child holding a book you loved reading this summer.  You can take the picture in your backyard, at the pool, in your favorite reading chair or while on vacation!  Make sure you are smiling at the camera!
  2. Complete the Gwinnett County Public Library summer reading program.  (The public library will give us a list of names of all who completed the program.)
  3. Complete the Ivy Creek Summer Reading Bingo and turn it in by August 18th.

Digital Resources:  Check out the Summer Reading Digital Resources for ways to complete the summer reading program digitally.  You’ll find tutorials on how to use the Beanstack program through the public library as well as some fantastic online resources for eBooks.

View the following links for some book suggestions for your grade level.  This is not required reading, but it might make your trip to the library a little easier this summer!
