Office of Counseling, College and Career Services

The Office of Counseling, College and Career Services (OC3) plays a vital role in supporting student success. We achieve this by:

  • Empowering School Counselors: OC3 recognizes the vital role school counselors play in students’ academic, social/emotional, and college and career planning success. We provide leadership, advocacy, and collaboration at the school, district, and state levels to ensure the development, implementation, and assessment of effective school counseling programs.
  • Enhancing Student Potential: OC3 equips school counselors with the resources and training to deliver a comprehensive school counseling program through a combination of school-wide initiatives, grade-level programs, and individual/small group/classroom counseling sessions to meet the needs of each and every student.
  • Removing Barriers to Achievement: OC3 works collaboratively with school counselors to identify and address any obstacles that may hinder student achievement. We are committed to providing all students with the support they need to thrive academically, socially/emotionally, and in post-secondary awareness and preparation.
  • Facilitating College and Career Readiness: We collaborate with College and Career Specialists to provide comprehensive post-secondary exploration, planning, guidance, and individual/group support. This ensures a smooth transition for students as students prepare for post-secondary options and build successful futures.
  • Ensuring Emergency Preparedness: OC3 oversees the district’s Emergency Response Teams, comprised of school counselors and social workers. These highly trained teams offer critical support to the school community during crisis situations.
